SMADS are the
parents supporters group, which was formed approximately 30
years ago to support music at the School. The Group primarily
raise funds and also travel to support all the bands within the
school at the various concerts, events and festivals. SMADS
meets at the School on the first Tuesday of every month during
term time from 7.00 pm. SMADS have since 2000 raised nearly
£200,000 in order to assist with the Music Department at the
School.
Over the past few
years a sub-committee has been formed, whose principal aim is to
seek various external funding through various sources including
lottery funding and also to seek sponsorship for the bands.
This sub-committee
has been very successful in the past and has been able to secure
funding from various sources. The sub-committee continually
works hard to extend funding and is always looking for further
funding opportunities.
