Telford Town Centre - Band Fundraising - Christmas Eve

On Sunday 24th December a number of band members played to shoppers for the third time during this festive period in Telford Shopping Centre. The sum of £265 was raised.

Supermarket Sweep 3 - Sainsbury Telford Town Centre

On Saturday 23rd December a number of band members played to shoppers at Sainsbury Store in Telford Town Centre the sum of £475 was raised.

Telford Town Centre - Band Fundraising - Part 2

End of Term Concert - 18th December 2006

Monday 18th December saw the December End of Term Concert being staged at the school where all the usual bands and ensembles performed to a packed audience. The Concert was a farewell to Wayne Ruston who conducted the Senior Brass Band for the last time thus ending his 11 year association with the band. At the end of the concert the school's Director of Performing Arts, Simon Platford made a warm tribute to Wayne presenting him with a cut glass decanter and glasses. The concert also witnessed the first fall of snow in Madeley during this festive season when the Showband performed on stage in a raging blizzard.




 

Band Town Centre Fundraising

On Sunday 10th and 17th December members of the Showband entertained shoppers whilst they were busy shopping approx. £1370 has been collected over the two days with further sessions planned particularly on Christmas Eve when the band members again will be in Telford Shopping Centre.

Shifnal and Telford Evening Fundraising

On Thursday 14th and Saturday 16th December a handful of band members visited a number of restaurants and hostelries in Shifnal and also Horsehay, Coalbrookdale and Ironbridge. The site webmaster was not available with his camera on Thursday however a few photos appear below of the members playing in the White Hart PH, Ironbridge (please note the new music stands - whilst the playing was going on!). Thanks to the Park House Hotel Shifnal, Odyssey Greek Restaurant and all the other establishments that we visited who hosted us on Thursday and Saturday. Thanks are also given to Martin Brookes, Robyn and Trevor Davies and the other members of the Rotary Club of Ironbridge, who chaperoned us on Thursday. Overall the sum of £640 was raised over the two nights - many thanks to all the customers at the various places for their donations. Sunday Night is Music Night Concert

On Sunday 15th October the Showband performed at the above concert in the Sherwood Square, Town Centre, Telford. The Concert was staged by the Rotary Club of Ironbridge and not only featured the Showband but also the Jackfield Elcock-Reisen Brass Band and the Jubilee Fellowship Gospel Choir from Wolverhampton. A tremendous night's entertainment ensured at the end of which a cheque in the sum of £3000 was presented by the Rotary Club President to Simon Platford. Senior Brass Band - Ironbridge World Heritage Festival

On Saturday 23rd September the Senior Brass Band performed at the Ironbridge World Heritage Festival, the event was opened by Michael Darby the Great Great Grandson of Abraham Darby III who built the world famous Ironbridge in 1779.
